The EDCT of Jackson was formed with the focus of sharing educational information about eating disorders with those in our 7-county community. Over the past few years, we have integrated into our community to provide services to various schools and/or organizations.
We are thrilled to be the first organization to create an outpatient "treatment team" specific to eating disorders for the Jackson area. Members of this team include: Dr. Elizabeth Londino, Ms. Angela Doyle, Ms. Hilda Nance, Mrs. Melody Zuker, and Ms. Francine Owens. Not only did we establish a premier treatment team, but we also formed a Families Supporting Families support group, led by Susan Harboldt, Nurse Practitioner. This group meets monthly, during the school year, at the local Regional Hospital.
The local schools have been very welcoming of our resources and information. We have enjoyed the opportunity to go into the schools and provide educational programs for not only students, but teachers and counselors as well. We are proud to play a part in creating an Eating Disorders Awareness Week at some of those schools.
