Misty Bays
Misty Bays joined Mountain States Health Alliance in 2006. Mountain States is the largest healthcare provider in Northeast Tennessee. In her role with the Department of Community and Government Relations, she has spearheaded many community health outreach programs. Among her many responsibilities is coordinating the activities of the EDCT-Northeast.
Misty has assisted the coalition with numerous education and community awareness events. Because of these efforts, it was soon evident that Misty had a personal passion and a special gift for educating youth about eating disorders. With the assistance of other coalition members, Misty received specialized training and conducted a school-based education program. Her leadership and enthusiasm influenced the members of EDCT-Northeast to make a commitment to take an educational program to every school in the region.
In addition to serving on the Eating Disorders Coalition of Tennessee Board of Directors, Misty is a member of the Bristol YWCA Junior Board, Generation Tennessee and serves on the Marion Free Clinic Auction Steering Committee. In 2008, Misty was honored to receive the Visionary Award from the Eating Disorders Coalition of Tennessee.
Misty is continuing her studies at ETSU. Because of her work with the coalition, Misty has decided to change her major to social work and hopes to incorporate animals into her future practice.
Misty resides in Johnson City, Tenn., with her husband Mark, their dog Riley and two cats Chloe and Sylvester.
