Over the past year, the Chattanooga area has been more active in promoting eating disorder awareness than ever before. EDCT-Chattanooga is now offering various services and groups within the community for eating disorder-related issues.
We currently have three area high schools participating in the YES! program developed by the EDCT. We also have a very successful peer-led support group which meets weekly each Tuesday night from 6-7:30 p.m. In addition, there are several individuals interested in and hoping to start a parent/family support group in the very near future. For more information about the support group, please contact Sondra Wilson at (423) 280-1949 or Dr. Jan Sherbak at (423) 870-5650.
Our most recent and exciting news is the development of the Mary Cameron Robinson Foundation (MCR Foundation). The foundation was established by loved ones of Mary Cameron Robinson (Cammy), after her death in September of 2005 as a direct result of her nine-year struggle with an eating disorder. Anyone interested in learning more can visit www.mcrfoundation.com.
