Families Supporting Families
Families Supporting Families (FSF) seeks to provide a free, peer-facilitated monthly forum of education and support for families, siblings, spouses, partners, and friends of individuals with eating disorders.

Meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 7-8 p.m. at the EDCT office, located at 2120 Crestmoor Rd., Ste. 3000, Nashville, TN.  The group averages 14 participants per meeting and is co-facilitated by Connie Horton and Kathy Gaston. Kathy and Connie are helping to create FSF groups in states such as Washington and Kentucky, with the assistance of the EDCT Families Supporting Families Facilitator's Training Manual and Guidebook. Families Supporting Families continues to be one of EDCT's most important programs, as it offers families a place to talk with other families about issues related to eating disorders and how these issues affect the family.

YES! Team
During the past year, EDCT's Youth Education and Support (YES!) Team program has nearly doubled in size and increased its outreach by 181 percent.  Based on feedback received from participating schools and youth last year, revisions were made to the YES! curriculum to meet the ever-changing needs and interests of a youth population.  These revisions evidently paid off, as more than 25,696 youth were educated on the eating disorders prevention through the YES! program.

Speakers Bureau
More than 45 EDCT members have been trained to speak about eating disorders, body image, and nutrition, among other topics.  These presentations are typically free-of-charge and open to the community.  Since its inception in 2003, the Speakers Bureau has reached more than 15,000 Tennesseans and continues to grow in members, as well as outreach.  During the past year, more than 30 EDCT members participated in the Speakers Bureau.  If you would like to become a part of our Speakers Bureau or would like to schedule a presentation for your organization, please contact Jennifer Katzenmiller at (615) 831-9838.
