Emily West, Dean Brody & Forty Real-Sized Models to Rock Runway
(Nashville,
Tenn. – Aug. 25, 2009) – Chefs, realtors, preschool teachers, CEOs.
They aren’t your typical runway models, but this isn’t your typical
fashion show.
The
sixth-annual Fashion for EveryBODY®, a New York-style fashion show
celebrating real-sized, diverse models, will feature 40 male and female
“ROLE Models” dressed in fall styles ranging from petite to plus-size.
The
event takes place at Vanderbilt’s Commodore Ballroom in Nashville,
Tenn., on Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. Country-music recording artists Emily West
(Capitol Records) and Dean Brody (Broken Bow Records) will co-host the
event, which also includes a silent auction. All proceeds benefit
Eating Disorders Coalition of Tennessee (EDCT), a Nashville-based,
statewide nonprofit dedicated to eating disorder awareness, education
and prevention.
This
is the first year that ROLE Models have been nominated from within the
community. More than 200 nominations rolled in from across Tennessee,
as well as from Connecticut, North Carolina and Canada. While models
were allowed to nominate themselves, most of the applications came from
peers, colleagues, mentors and family members.
“The
only requirement was sheer fabulousness,” says EDCT Executive Director
Liz Llewellyn of the nominating process. “Our deadline was July 15, but
we’re still receiving calls and nominations from people just now
hearing about the show.”
Twenty-one
Middle Tennessee boutiques, including Apricot Lane, Dawn D. Totty,
Gent, Ivey on Main, Manuel, UAL and others, will clothe the models.
Stylists and makeup artists from Fruition Salon and Therapy Systems,
respectively, will create the models’ runway-ready looks.
The official event website, fashionforeverybody.org,
includes a list of ROLE Models and participating boutiques, as well as
a link to ticket sales through TicketsNashville. Tickets are $35 for
general admission and $75 for the VIP level when purchased before the
show.
Eating
Disorders Coalition of Tennessee is a resource for individuals,
families and communities on eating disorders, with the hope that
education will prevent the development of eating disorders and provide
those who are impacted by disordered eating with support, information
and assistance in finding effective treatment. More information is
available at www.edct.net.
