EDCT’s Fashion for EveryBODY Raises $32,000

(Nashville—October 1, 2008)—What do 16 area boutiques, 43 real-size celebrity role models, and 1 award-winning Nashville non-profit equal?  $32,000 for programs and services dedicated towards helping those in Nashville impacted by disordered eating and promoting awareness about healthy body image.  On Saturday, September 27th, Eating Disorders Coalition of Tennessee hosted the fifth annual Fashion for EveryBODY drawing over 350 people to the Limelight in downtown Nashville.

The silent auction featured designer items from Burberry, Louis Vitton, Coach, Chloe, Tiffany.  The rock and roll, New York style runway show highlighted all of the many personalities that strutted down the catwalk including country singer Jamie O’Neal, local television news personalities like Brad Schmidt of News Channel 2 and Tuwanda Coleman of Channel 5’s Talk of the Town, and reality TV stars Erik Huffman and Jamie Dugan of Survivor China and Sarah Stone of The Bachelor, Paris.

Shelli Yoder, executive director of the Eating Disorders Coalition of Tennessee “For those who wish to take fashion back for themselves and not leave it to the 2% of the population featured in NY Fashion Week and high fashion magazines, come to Fashion for EveryBODY™ and treat yourself to a night that celebrates beauty in every form.”

The Eating Disorders Coalition of Tennessee is a resource for individuals, families, and communities on eating disorders, with the hope that education will prevent the development of eating disorders and provide those who are impacted by disordered eating with support, information, and assistance in finding effective treatment.  For more information and to contact the EDCT, visit www.edct.net or call 615.831.9838.
