This will be my first Thanksgiving in recovery. In fact, it will be the first Thanksgiving gathering I've attended in years because I was consumed by my eating disorder. To be honest, I'm a little scared and anxious about it.

Knoxville, Tenn. -- Internationally known speaker, author and clinical consultant Anita Johnston, PhD, spoke at the Carolyn P. Brown Memorial Center at UT-Knoxville on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Presented by Focus Healthcare of Tennessee and Moonpointe: A Focus Center for Eating Disorders, the free event drew hundreds of students and community members.
EDCT-Knoxville Advisory Board member Renee Taylor-Sapp served as event coordinator. A former competitive ballroom dancer, Taylor-Sapp is pursuing her undergraduate degree in nutrition at UT. She is also the Secretary of UT's Undergraduate Nutrition Student Association.
