An Evening of Song and Story Raises Awareness, Exceeds Fundraising Goal
April 25, 2012
We are thrilled to report that this year’s “An Evening of Song & Story,” has already raised more than $83,000 in pledges and donations. Thanks to the generous support of our underwriters and donors, we have exceeded our $75,000 goal. The event drew more than 200 attendees and was held at Belle Meade Country Club in Nashville on Thursday, April 12.
After a gracious welcome from co-chairs Elena Graves and Ellen Tanner, Rev. Bill Howard opened the evening with a heartfelt blessing. In addition to a delicious three-course dinner, the evening included a short program to introduce EDCT’s 2011 volunteer award recipients (see below). A brief video – generously donated by Lindsay Frail and her team at StudioNow – preceded a compelling, personal story of hope and recovery from Board member Mary Lee Bartlett.
Singer-songwriter Natalie Hemby (“White Liar,” “Paper Doll” and others) and her husband, guitarist and producer Mike Wrucke, provided the evening’s entertainment.
Thank you to all who were involved in making this event a tremendous success for raising awareness and resources for EDCT. Check out our facebook page (www.facebook.com/myEDCT) to view event photos.
