Susan Akers
Susan Akers is the middle school guidance counselor at Franklin Road Academy. She has been involved with EDCT since moving to Nashville from Chicago in 2005.
She has chaired the Youth Education and Support (YES!) Team committee, which partners with schools across the state to educate students regarding eating disorders and the resources available to them. In 2010, Susan and her sister, Kathy Gaston, co-chaired Evening of Song and Story, EDCT’s largest fundraising event. She is a partner and co-owner of Interior Motives, a residential design business. Susan and her husband, Tim, have two daughters in college.
